"I tried to nap, but now my head was alive, was a toddler in a room full of new guests. It jumped and squealed and threw the books off the shelves. Yes I'm one of the slowest talkers you'll ever meet but my head, when I have it and it's not asleep or being borrowed, is not slow. My mind, I know, I can prove, hovers on hummingbird wings. It hovers and it churns. And when it's operating at full thrust, the churning does not stop. The machines do not rest, the systems rarely cool. And while I can forget anything of any importance-this is why people tell me secrets-my mind has an uncanny knack for organization when it comes to pain. Nothing tormenting is lost, never even diminished in color or intensity or quality of sound. These were filed near the front."

Separate Sprint
These words never fail me.
Wondering all the time what gives meaning and why it's so relative.

hold her and keep her strong
says "I have seen things that you will never see"
says "Leave it to memory me, I shudder to breathe"
says "I will try not to burden you, I can hold these inside"
This is one I don't want to last
One experience I know I'll never move past
I will look for your face everywhere that I go
When Earth meets the sun I just want you to know
I have your opinions and I think that you're wrong
This world gave us purpose, you're part of the song
I'm trying to chew what I don't understand
But you witnessed it all, you've seen it first hand
It seems that your marvels are simple and true
When all's said and done, babe, I hold out for you

Emma Kate
As I've described, it's like a new pair of shoes.
But forget the shoes for a minute, because now we're relearning how to walk.
I'm forced to wear them but I can't even stand without losing my balance yet.
The sores come and go; they are old and new
But the more I think about how much my feet hurt,
the more I'm reminded that this has nothing to do with me.
You are you, and I am I
Although I feel something inside me has died
I see now it's only the dimming of a light
The same light I will search the world for just to be near you
You've done more good for the world in your 17 years & 126 days of living
than most people accomplish in a lifetime
FOUR blind people across this nation have guide dogs at their side
Thanks to you.
My word is Movement.
I think your word was Feeling.
You felt everything, quite literally
And not so literally, you feel everything again now.
Your word is Love.

the start of something good
"Rebecca Paige, I'm wondering if you check your messages because I often don't because sometimes I just don't feel like it and YOU always have a full mailbox. I was actually surprised that I'm able to leave this message right now... but in any event, I am leaving you a message to say 'Hello!' I miss you, I love you. I'm sitting on a rock outside of my house and the weather is nice and it's a beautiful, beautiful day and I decided to stop trying to cut people out of my life and to just live. And it's going to be a wonderful summer, and now I'm just dabbling and I did take a vicadin and a half earlier and my mom and I got into a big fight because she thought I was addicted. But my sisters like, 'You're not addicted. Relax.' And that makes me feel better. And I ate solid food today."

never know
if it crushes you - free it
you can't live for them, you have to sing your own song
if you can't imagine it - be it
no one else will provide the passion and efforts you show
if they laugh at you - love it
this is the encouragement that you've been waiting for
if it's a challenge - take it
you've been given the chance to falter and ultimately persevere
if it grabs at your heart right - live it
through those standards will you grow to your fullest potential

if you're partial to the night sky
can't help but be reminded of
"don't fix my smile, life is long enough
we will put this flesh into the ground again"
we've all lived our lives out of focus, for a brief if not longer segment of time
broken through barriers without any regards to consequence
laughed at order and pushed things till their very last straw
we make blurry that which we cannot confront
and until the particles settle, there's no way to see through that fog
allow yourself the recovery time

my branches
Maybe then you'll see it moves through you
Swift and carried out like two wandering strands
That, with accordant potentials, find reason to couple
Without any incentive other than the natural forces
That have bound them in the first place

set out to sea
Reality is all in our own minds. We do not actually
experience the real world, only the images, sounds and sensations fed to us by
our five senses and interpreted by our brains.
It’s true that this fantasy is directly influenced by
the physical universe but research has shown that we all perceive the outside
world in very different ways.
Since all experience occurs within your mind, your
memories of your life right up to this very moment are as real and valid as the
dream you had last night.
So, is “reality” a dream? I believe that it’s more like
a memory of what our senses perceived a millisecond ago. A story told to us by
our mind to represent our experiences in the physical universe.
From an objective viewpoint your “mind” wouldn’t exist at all.
An objective observer would only see the movement of atoms and electrons within
your brain. Subjective experience is exactly that: subjective.
